Check any UPI ID
Paste a UPI ID (or just the handle) to see whether it matches a known bank/PSP pattern.
Run a full fraud-signal check on a UPI ID, link or QRWhat is a UPI Handle?
A UPI handle is the part of a UPI ID after the @ — it identifies which bank or payment app (PSP) is managing that account, not the account holder. A complete UPI ID looks like username@bankhandle, for example 9876543210@paytm. UPI itself is a single interoperable network run by NPCI (the National Payments Corporation of India); the handle is what tells your app, and the receiving bank's app, which member bank or PSP to route the payment through.
Complete UPI Handle List
As per the NPCI TPAP list and each bank/app's own published handle set. Reference list, not a live NPCI registry query — a handle can be reassigned, and this covers commonly seen handles, not all 200+ registered with NPCI.

Google Pay Handles
Google Pay issues one handle per sponsor bank rather than a single GPay-wide handle — which one a given user has depends on which bank they linked first:
@okaxis— Axis Bank@okhdfcbank— HDFC Bank@oksbi— State Bank of India@okicici— ICICI Bank@okbizaxis— Axis Bank
PhonePe Handles
Same pattern as Google Pay — PhonePe accounts are split across three sponsor banks:
@ybl— Yes Bank@ibl— ICICI Bank@axl— Axis Bank
How to Check if a UPI Handle is Fake
Most fake-handle scams rely on a one- or two-character typo that's easy to miss at a glance — @okhdfcbank (real) versus @okhdfcbakn (transposed letters) reads almost identically in a small font. The checker above flags exactly this: it compares whatever you paste against every handle in this directory and, if there's no exact match but a close one, suggests it. That only tells you the spelling doesn't match a known pattern — it can't confirm who actually holds the account behind a correctly-spelled handle. For collect-request traps, brand impersonation, and other fraud signals in a UPI ID, link or QR, use the UPI ID & QR Code Safety Checker — send ₹1 first and read the name your app returns before confirming any payment to someone new.
What is the @valid UPI Handle?
@valid isn't a bank or app handle at all. From October 2025, SEBI requires registered stockbrokers, mutual funds, and other regulated intermediaries collecting payments from investors to use a UPI ID ending in @valid, shown with a verified checkmark inside your UPI app. It exists specifically so investors can tell a genuine registered intermediary from an impersonator — if someone claiming to be a SEBI-registered broker asks you to pay to a handle that isn't @valid, that mismatch is worth checking before you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is @okaxis — which bank is it?
@okaxis is Axis Bank, used by Google Pay. It's one of four handles GPay issues — @okaxis, @okhdfcbank, @oksbi, and @okicici — one per sponsor bank, not one handle per app.
What is @ybl — which bank is it?
@ybl is Yes Bank, used by PhonePe. PhonePe also issues @ibl (ICICI Bank) and @axl (Axis Bank) — which one a given PhonePe user gets depends on which bank onboarded their account.
What is @okhdfcbank — which bank is it?
@okhdfcbank is HDFC Bank, used by Google Pay — the "ok" prefix is Google Pay's own naming convention across all four of its bank handles.
How many UPI handles are there?
NPCI has 200+ registered handles across banks, PSPs and third-party apps. This directory tracks the ones people actually search for and encounter day to day — the major bank, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, and BHIM handles — not the full registry.
What is the difference between a UPI handle and a UPI ID?
A UPI ID (or VPA — Virtual Payment Address) is the whole address, like rahul@okaxis. The UPI handle is just the part after the @ — okaxis — and it identifies the bank or app managing that account, not the specific person.
How do I check if a UPI handle is fake?
Compare it letter-by-letter against a known handle in this directory — scams often rely on a one-character typo, like @okhdfcbank vs @okhdfcbakn. The checker below flags a close-but-not-exact match. That only confirms the handle's spelling follows a known pattern, though — it can't confirm who actually holds the account. For an actual fraud-signal check on a UPI ID, link, or QR, use the UPI ID & QR Code Safety Checker.
Ready to pay or get paid?
Build a QR with any handle above in the UPI QR Code Generator, or share a pre-filled payment link with the UPI Payment Link Generator.
